Dear District Attorney Clark,
I am writing to respectfully urge your office to consent to resentencing Andre Brown, who has already served 23 years for two attempted murders he did not commit. Mr. Brown is a wrongfully convicted individual whose continued incarceration is a grave injustice.
The evidence in his case has been thoroughly reexamined, and it is clear that a miscarriage of justice occurred. Andre was just 22 when he was convicted of attempted murder and he was released after he served 23 years of a harsh 40 year sentence. For the two years he's been free, Andre's led an exemplary life, working in the court system and being present for his family.
After more than two decades behind bars, it is time to right this wrong and allow Mr. Brown the opportunity to rebuild his life.
I urge you to do the right thing by supporting justice in Mr. Brown’s case.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Dear Governor Hochul,
I urge you to grant clemency to Andre Brown, who has endured 23 years in prison for two attempted murders he did not commit. Andre is a wrongfully convicted New Yorker who deserves justice, not continued punishment for a crime he did not commit.
After more than two decades behind bars, he has shown extraordinary resilience and humanity in the face of injustice. Andre was just 22 when he was convicted of attempted murder and he was released after he served 23 years of a harsh 40 year sentence. For the two years he's been free, Andre's led an exemplary life, working in the court system and being present for his family.
Clemency is the just and compassionate path forward — one that would restore hope and dignity to an innocent man.
I respectfully ask that you use your executive power to correct this grave wrong.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]

The appellate division reinstates Andre's conviction, meaning if Governor Kathy Hochul doesn't grant him clemency, he has to go back to prison.
Andre is ordered to return to prison on April 25, 2025.
